Art Deco Pictures

We have been learning about art deco. We cut out a photo of ourselves. We stuck our heads onto a piece of paper and then drew the rest of our body dressed in art deco clothes. We are not allowed to have photos of ourselves on the internet so we have just photographed the body.

Autumn Artwork

We sponged different autumn colours onto a piece of paper. We folded the paper in half and cut a square out of it to make a border. We got a leaf from outside and traced it. We cut this out. We dyed some paper blue or green. Then we stuck the border and the leaves on.

Autumn Writing

We are learning to use descriptive words in our writing. We wrote some descriptive stories about autumn. We published the stories on a leaf and dyed them.

What is Happening in Room 14

You, Me, We
We had to put some unique information about ourselves inside the shields. Then we coloured them in.










Self Portraits
We had to sketch ourselves with a burnt stick. We used our fingers to smudge over pictures.












Summer
We had to write a descriptive story about summer. We were learning to write a clear picture about a person, place or thing.

We use our map to learn about places in New Zealand.

Our Learning

Museum Trip

We went to the Discovery Museum to learn about the Napier Earthquake in 1931. We went for a walk around Napier to look at the art deco patterns on the buildings.

Anzac Day

We have been learning about ANZAC day. We learnt and when we celebrate ANZAC day. In Taradale we celebrate ANZAC day at the Taradale Clock Tower. We have designed some of our own poppies. See some below.
